THE FASCINATION OF WORDS

A DICITONARY

is defined as a book containing the words of a language alphabetically arranged with their meanings etc., also as an aid to improving spelling and grammar. But there is another aspect to paging through a dictionary, simple pleasure.  For a few moments one can quietly amuse one’s self and improve personal observation.

FOR EXAMPLE:  What do the following words have in common?

repaper             racecar          deified                    rotator

They are all  PALINDROMES  – they read alike backward and forward
