ALBINI BINI born11 July 1899 and died 24 March 1998. She was both a pianist and an opera singer. At the age of 11 she began playing at a local cinema earning a monthly salary. She made her debut as a pianist with the Cape Town Municipal Orchestra. In 1947 she sang in the gala concert held at the Cape Town City Hall to welcome the visit of the British Royal Family. In later years would sing leading roles in the operas: Don Pasquale, La Traviata , La Boheme, Rigoletto
